The triplets are sleeping

It's 9:36pm, and all the men in my life are asleep. I call my boys (that includes my husband and 2 sons) my triplets because they are all spitting images of daddy! Now, given that I've not had more than 3 hours of sleep in any given night for the past 6 weeks, one would think that I might take this opportunity to go to bed myself. No...that would make too much sense! I have to fill out life insurance paperwork (existing policy is with AIG...I don't care what the government says, I don't trust it!). Then I think I'll try to get in a quick run on the treadmill. These last 18 pounds aren't going to disappear on their own! If only I'd lost the last ten after my big boy - then I'd only have 8 to go. Coulda, shoulda, woulda...Better get moving before I lose my motivation.

Run, mommy, run!

Mondays

I really have to work on my game face. Why have 3 different people asked me if I am "ok" this morning? I put on my makeup, got out the door fully dressed. I guess I am only so good and hiding the exhaustion after a somewhat relaxing weekend.

Great husband, even better father

I have to say that I really lucked out in the husband department. Not only was I blessed to find a man willing to put up with all my...let's say, quirks (some would say ISSUES), he also happens to be one of the best fathers that I've ever met.

Happy Father's Day, baby. I know that our boys will grow up to be great men following in your footsteps.

Trophies

I have to thank my love, Lan, for the inspiration for this post....

I would LOVE to have one of those cheesy "World's Best Mom" trophies that we used to buy when we were kids. I do believe that it would make my day...

Teething

Baby boy is now teething...hard. I think that I got a grand total of 6 hours of sleep in the past 5 days. Hmmm....perhaps this should be called Chronicles of the Chronically Sleep Deprived rather than The BadAssMama Chronicles.

He seems to be feeling a bit better today. Had a relatively good night - slept beside me and nursed most of the night, but that's actually a good thing since he didn't want to take the bottle at daycare. I picked him up early because he had only had 3 ounces from 8am to 2pm.

Now all three boys are napping (that includes my husband). You would think I might take this opportunity to grab a nap myself. Nope - baking brownies for Father's Day. I made a batch yesterday (when I was cooking food for the entire week), but in my sleep deprived stupor I only put in 1/2 cup sugar vs. 1 1/2 cup. Needless to say, they were nasty. So, this is round 2.

Maybe I'll get some sleep tonight....

Hour 9 and still no nap

Why is it only 11:30, and I've already been awake for 9 hours?

Baby refused to fall asleep on the way to big boy's Gymboree class, so he's on hour 6 with no nap. This is not going to end well...

1.5 hours of slepp + 15 hours of solo care x 2 kids = cause for concern

How do we do it? I am literally on my 6th night of less than 2 hours total sleep yet I am still on my feet. It's Saturday, so that means I'm flying solo with the boys while daddy is at work. Gymboree, lunch then naptime...just have to make it through the next 3.5 hours....i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...

Another day in the life of a BadAssMama. We're starting a revolution, ya'll - claim your power and jump on board! I know you're out there. Hard working women at home caring solo for your kids or juggling work and a family. YOU keep this world a turnin'. You are BadAss! You go girl...
